Time Escape: Time Warp, Operation Rescue, Castle Secrets (Seattle, WA)

Operation Rescue: Save Ricky From Jason and Bobby

Time Escape is a franchise with locations in Vancouver, Edmonton and their latest addition, Seattle. We booked three rooms back to back and given they were 45mins each at $35/room, we were expecting some great escaping. The lobby looked great and the location was walking distance from the Space Needle.

We played the following rooms in the order below.

Operation Rescue: Your standard rescue a kidnapped person. The room was pretty sparse and puzzles were standard with quite a few were random solutions without much of a logical link.

Time Warp: You are tasked with going back in time to save the time machine and the company that made it from mobsters. The set decor was average and the final puzzle was pretty neat. This was the best of the three rooms we played due to some good logic flow between puzzles and some nice props.

Castle Secrets: We played this unreleased room (active in other cities but not Seattle) and it was billed as "an escape room that you've never seen before". The rooms were extremely bare, and while there was one reveal that had a moving part, the use of this tech was totally unnecessary (same thing can be achieved with a drawer and that would actually have saved us time). The puzzles didn't match the theme and were pretty random.

You have my axe, and my sword...

Overall, the rooms were disappointing given the time frame and the pricing. Time Warp was average but the other two rooms were subpar compared to most rooms we have played.

Pros: Time Warp is enjoyable
Cons: Premium cost for rooms that are subpar
  • Set/room design: Most rooms were pretty bare
  • Technology/automation: Gen-1 & 1.5 room (one moving part but somewhat useless)
  • Difficulty: Difficult due to randomness of solutions
  • Price: $35/person,
  • Number of players: 2-8, private booking (we recommend 2-3)
  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Overall Rating: Castle Secrets ★, Operation Rescue ★★, TIme Warp ★★★
