Caleb was the star in this room! |
"The Hydeout is a Victorian-era mission inspired by the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Be prepared to go into the good doctor’s home but beware of his dark side. Dr Jekyll has been acting strange and gone missing. It’s up to you to find out what has happened to Dr Jekyll before Mr Hyde shows up…"
The decor is excellent and the mood is great. There is even a temperature change at certain parts of the game to help set the tone of the rooms. While a lot of the puzzles use similar elements from a typical escape room, they were different enough to have us thinking about what to do. Experienced teams will go through this room quickly but as with other rooms, that doesn't mean we have less fun.
I would recommend this room to all players because of the high quality setting and polish. One oddity was after we escaped the room, the GM proceeded to, what we assumed, show off some of the technology. It was funny as she had built up the excitement to only show us an automated door opening that we all saw already as if we had never seen that in an escape room before.
Cons: Some puzzles were a bit of a stretch
- Set/room design: Great
- Technology/automation: Gen-2 room
- Difficulty: Medium
- Price: $32/person,
- Number of players: 1-6 (we recommend 3-4), public
- Duration: 60 minutes
- Overall Rating: ★★★★
